EO fully possessed its twin 1m-diameter Telescopes

telescopeIt has been remembered that Ethiopian Space Science Society (ESSS) was engaged in building a two one-meter diameter telescopes project for the past five years which was primarily aimed and targeted to establish Entoto Observatory and Research center (EO). The contract for building of the telescope was given to ASTELCO company by ESSS. ASTELCO is a German based Company who have ample experience in building and installing Astronomical telescope in the world.

The installation of the telescopes were completed couples of months ago and waiting for commissioning to its full operation. The final commissioning was carried out for a week by group of external commissioners &international Scientists   who have ample years of experiences in the field and came from South Africa and Russia.

EO Council visited and made their Council meeting at EO

On Friday 12 Dec 2014,the Entoto Observatory and Research Center Council visited the center and made a one day Council meeting at the center.Council meeting

During their visit ,the EO Director, Dr. Solomon Belay and his staff members,   explained for the Council members about the activities of the center in general and the scientific & technical support divisions in particular.

ISP Physical Science Program Director visits EORC

On 25 Nov 2014, the International Science Program (ISP) physical Science director Prof. Ernest van Groningen Visited EORC.

During his visit to EO, Prof Ernest meet EO Director, Staffs, & Students (MSC & PHD) at the center and visited the observatories.

EO director Dr. Solomon, introduced Prof. Ernest to students and staffs about his   professional background and his current duties and purpose of visit to EO.
