Dr. Berhan Gessesse is an assistant professor of Remote Sensing at Entoto Observatory and Research Center (EORC). He earned his B.A Degree in applied Geography and Environmental Studies and his MSc Degree in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Sciences from Addis Ababa University. He attended his doctoral research at Addis Ababa University and Frederic-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany) in a sandwich model and he earned Doctoral Degree in September 2013. The focus of his doctoral research area was the application of Remote sensing, Geographical Information Sciences & Environmental Modelling to characterize Landscape Transformation, Natural Resource Management and Development. His subject expertise and topical areas of research interest are:

  • Remote sensing (Optical, Thermal, Huperspecteral, Microwave);
  • Phtogrammetery and Aerial Photo Interpretation;
  • Geographic Information Systems(GIS);
  • Physical Geography, Geomorphology, Surface Processing and Spatial Modelling;
